CPP to invest up to ₹70 billion in CtrlS — scaling Indian AI infrastructure

Friends, I’d like to share an update from the AI and data‑centre sector.
CPP will invest up to ₹70 billion in CtrlS: ₹40 billion for an 8.2% stake and up to ₹30 billion into a JV for hyperscale campuses (CPP 48%, CtrlS 52%).
CtrlS operates 15+ data centres and is expanding capacity for cloud and AI workloads.
This follows a wave of investment into India (AirTrunk; Meta+Reliance). Expansion intensifies pressure on energy and water.
Why it matters: these investments will accelerate access to compute for AI but demand strong sustainability focus.
What risks and opportunities do you see for the market?
