Countries impose social media bans for children: who and what measures

Friends, I want to share a tech policy update. Several countries are implementing or considering bans on social media for children and adolescents.
• Australia — first: ban under 16, fines and mandatory age verification.
• United Kingdom (June 15) — proposal: ban under 16; messengers exempt; AI chatbots 18+.
• Others: Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey.
• Criticism: privacy risks and doubts about effectiveness (Amnesty Tech).
Why it matters: companies and regulators must prepare for policy and verification changes.
Which approach do you find more effective: bans or enhanced safeguards?
