Salesforce Acquires Fin for $3.6B — Scaling AI Agents for Customer Service

Colleagues, a major AI update: Salesforce has acquired customer-support platform Fin (formerly Intercom) for $3.6 billion.
Fin provides AI agents that resolve queries across chat, WhatsApp, SMS, calls, Slack and more. Salesforce will fold Fin’s technology and team into Agentforce to accelerate the creation of bespoke AI agents. Fin’s leadership will remain in place, and executives pledge continued product development; the deal is expected to close in Q4 of fiscal 2027.
