Filtr — device-level ad blocker for iPhone, iPad and Mac

Friends, I’d like to share a tech update: Filtr — a device-level ad blocker for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
What happened: developer Kaylee Calderolla (Wipr) uses iOS 16/macOS 16 URL filters to block ad and tracker downloads in apps.
How it works: the device applies a pre-filter; if uncertain, a check is made on the developer’s server via Apple’s proxy — no personal data is collected.
Limitations: does not block adverts served from the same domain (e.g., Facebook, Google, Reddit).
Cost: Wipr — $5, Filtr — $5/year or $25 one-time.
Why it matters: reduces tracking and enhances privacy outside the home network.
How do you feel about device-level ad blockers?
