Microsoft releases ACS standard to control AI-agent behavior

Colleagues, I’d like to share a quick AI update. Microsoft has introduced the open Agent Control Specification (ACS) to govern AI-agent behavior.

Key points:
- ACS defines policies specifying permitted and prohibited actions, when human review is required, and what to log.
- Checks are enforced at key stages: before input, prior to tool invocation, after results, and before responding; actions include allow, block, edit, or request approval.
- Policies are single, portable files; ACS is provided as an SDK with plugins for LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, Anthropic, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, and more.

Why it matters: it simplifies auditing, reuse of controls, and portability.
