OpenAI Adopts C2PA and SynthID to Label AI‑Generated Images

Friends, I’d like to share an AI update: OpenAI has announced new measures to label generated images.

The company adopted the open C2PA standard—metadata will indicate AI generation.

In partnership with Google, it will introduce the invisible SynthID watermark, resilient to screenshots and manipulation.

The two mechanisms complement each other: metadata provides provenance, the watermark protects against removal.

Initially, protection applies only to OpenAI products; a public verification tool is also being tested.
