Aurora launches driverless McLane runs between Dallas and Houston

Colleagues, an update from autonomous transport: Aurora has started commercial runs for distributor McLane between Dallas and Houston.
- Trucks operate without a driver at the wheel; a cabin 'observer' is present but does not control the vehicle (per agreement with Paccar).
- Previously there was a pilot with an operator; services now run seven days a week.
- Autopilot covers highway segments; control is transferred to a McLane driver for local delivery.
- Aurora plans to expand routes across the Sun Belt and already holds additional commercial contracts.
Why it matters: a step toward scaled commercialisation of autonomous freight and lower costs.
How do you evaluate the efficiency of such hybrid schemes?
