26 FakeWallet Apps in the App Store Steal Seed Phrases — Kaspersky

Colleagues, please note: Kaspersky has identified 26 fake "FakeWallet" apps in the App Store impersonating popular wallets.

Kaspersky reports these apps redirect users to phishing pages, install trojanized versions, exploit enterprise provisioning, and use OCR to steal seed phrases. Many have been removed by Apple; no evidence has been found on Google Play.

Why it matters: theft of mnemonic seed phrases leads to irreversible loss of funds — a regular password won't help.

Recommendations: verify app name and developer, never enter seed phrases into apps or webpages, download only from official sources, and keep iOS updated.
