YouTube expands detection of AI celebrity doppelgängers

Friends, a quick AI update: YouTube is expanding its face‑based AI deepfake detection tool for the entertainment industry.
The technology works like Content ID: it scans videos for facial matches and gives agencies, managers and rights holders options — remove, file a copyright claim, or take no action.
Artists do not need their own channel to participate — registering their likeness is sufficient. Parody and satire are preserved; audio support will be added later. YouTube supports initiatives such as the NO FAKES Act, but removals remain limited so far.
Why it matters: the tool reduces the risk of impersonation and reputational harm.
Are these measures sufficient, or is stricter regulation needed?
